An interactive Zoom seminar where Coach Stewart will guide you in watching the Hungarian Master Laszlo Jakab’s Training DVD “Fundamentals of Sabre”.

We will watch and discuss each chapter of the Training DVD looking at;
The technical aspects of the fencing actions
How it fits within the greater system
The common errors and why they are considered errors within this fencing system
The tactical applications of the moves
The pedagogy of the actions. How they build on each other to create greater technical and tactical awareness in the student.
Supporting induction exercises, pair exercises and systematic bouts to reinforce the lesson content.

This review of Master Jakab’s DVD should take between two and three sessions. Following on from these initial session there will be supporting sessions looking at;
Rhythm and its importance in tactics
Half steps and their place in supporting Rhythm and distance changing in executing said tactics.
Video review of Master Jakab teaching some exercises using half step
Video footage of world class fencers performing these actions in a tactical setting. A view of tactics from another angle
A review of Master Jakab’s live Q&A facebook broadcast on second intention

These sessions will be on a relaxed Friday evening at 6pm and tickets priced at £5 pounds a session. So join in as many or as few as you wish and enjoy the seminars. Suitable for experienced sabre fencers and coaches wishing to improve understanding.
